Everyone has pet peeves. It’s just a fact of life. Everyone has things that annoy them. The sound of people chewing, being micromanaged, when people are late, whatever.
But you know what my biggest one is?
People that won’t do anything to help themselves.
These are the people that whine, moan, and cry about their situation, but won’t do anything to change it. It seems like all they want to do is bitch about it.
Hate your job? Get a new one. Hate your husband? Get a divorce. Your health sucks? Stop eating garbage and do something about it.
I get it, it’s hard for some people, and I can empathize with that, but life doesn’t change unless you’re the catalyst for that change. I know how hard it can be to pull yourself up by the bootstraps and turn your life in a different direction. I struggle with mental illness – I know what it’s like to pull yourself up from the pit and try to make your life better. But it really is possible.
I swear, it really is. You just have to want to. Even when it sucks, you have to want it. You have to want it more than anything. You have to put in the work, hell, you have to want the work.

This song came on the other day when I was pondering my goals. And you know what? For the first time in a long time I want the work. I want to put in the work to accomplish the things that I want. Sure, the goals are great, but the work is what’s important. Things don’t just happen.
So be the catalyst. Want the work. Do your thing. I firmly believe that as long as your goals are realistic (I mean, let’s face it – I’m not going to be president some day), there are literally no limits to what you can achieve. It doesn’t matter why you do it, just do it.
